CHICAGO – To better prepare residents for upcoming job opportunities, state Rep. Slaughter, D-Chicago, recently collaborated with Chicago State University and the Washington Heights Workforce Center to host a free resume writing seminar.
“With all of the high-paying jobs that available in our community, I am glad that we have organizations like Chicago State University and Washington Heights Workforce that understand the power of a good resume,” said Slaughter. “Oftentimes, jobseekers do not put in the time to create an exceptional resume and this can be the difference between landing a job or not.”
Slaughter was joined by experts from Chicago State’s University’s Career Services and Washington Heights Workforce Center. Attendees were given information on how to update their resumes, how to highlight their job experiences and how to conduct oneself during an interview. This free résumé writing seminar is a part of Slaughter’s ongoing Community Careers Initiative.
